The Funniest Non-Comedians

Part 1 – The Discussion

At first this will be an open ended list, but eventually I will make a Top 5 list based on my opinion. Michael Irvin, Rampage Jackson, Shaq, Gronk, Jon Gruden come to mind, right there? Is that it? Like thats solid as fuck to me. All those dudes have made me laugh nearly as hard as Dave Chappelle has made me laugh and he’s my undisputed comedy goat. Now, im not saying this is my definitive Top 5. This is part 1 for a reason. Idek my top 5. Bo Jackson is actually hilarious too. Understated.

Athletes seem to be the funniest non-comedians, but I’m sure there are a few rappers too. Does Lil Dicky count? I feel like he is a comedian at heart and may have started out as a comic. Same goes for Pat McAfee and Blake Griffin.

They are definitely exempt from this list because they both have performed stand up comedy beyond an open mic, but actually does performing an open mic make you more legit as a comic? Not to take away from the two but did either of them go through the comedy circuit ghouls and bottomless barrels of open mics? Because i have and that is not for the feint of heart, and may disqualify them from exception, putting them back into qualification for this list of Top 5 Funniest Non-Comedians which could be a crazy turn of events.

I’ll have to research more and make that call Part 2 or 3. Both are hilarious to me and Blake Griffin is in every goddamn commercial right now and he is honestly great in every single one. His Kawaii Leonard impression is hysterical

And Pat is no schlep, he even has a 18-minute special on YouTube, and Blake has performed at the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal, amongst other stand up spots. They are too deep in the comedy scene to be deemed non-comedians. This list is reserved for the guys who never attempted stand up and are not pursuing a career in comedy, but are just naturally hilarious without a stick in the comedy game.

As of recently, Gilbert Arenas, Kevin Garnett, Coach JB, Mike Tyson, and Ocho Cinco (and Shannon) come to mind when it comes to the funniest Non-Comedians. There’s so much versatility in this area of study its crazy. So many hard hitters, and i know theres even more I’m forgetting.

Next part will be Spotlights on as many funny non-comedians as possible, before Top 5 or Mount Rushmore reveal.
